Los Angeles, We Have a Problem
What the hell?
Ryantific and I just got done watching tonight’s Lakers-Rockets game and are trying to figure out how Los Angeles lost to Houston – a team the Lakers spanked during the regular season. Here are some of the reasons we came up with:
How many beers did we drink?
Was it the Swine Flu?

NBA All Star game strongest in years
On Sunday NBA fans were witness to the most entertaining NBA All Star game in years. It had intensity and a very interesting sub plot.
The game actually featured defense and intense play (yes, by the end of the game it was a dunk contest of such with the west leading by 20 or so). Typically [...]
The first team to 100 …
I guess the rule doesn’t apply to The Garden, especially if Kobe’s still on the floor.
Bryant might not win the MVP this season (BronBron once appeared to be the front-runner, at least for the first half of the season), but No. 24 certainly has a valid argument for the best finisher in the game.
According to [...]
Kobe’s great, Lebron’s good, Knicks fan’s shameful
George Willis of the New York Post recently called the Knicks fans Shameful for cheering Kobe on to score 61 at Madison Square Garden this last week. Willis credited Knicks fans for getting behind the Knicks squad as they dropped to defend Lebron and his 52 points and triple double. When we examine the fans [...]
Mr. Bryant Goes to Town: Kobe drops 61 on Spike Lee and New York Knicks
Remember that old Snoop Dogg and DPG video, “New York, New York,” which had Death Row’s crew stomping all over New York?Yeah, that was Kobe Bryant tonight. In honor of tonight’s 61-point outburst against the New York Knicks, the crew at WCBias has a few title suggestions for Spike Lee’s upcoming documentary on Los Angeles Lakers [...]
What if … What if … What if Shaq & Kobe stuck together
Great question posed on the Dan Patrick show today:Are Shaq and Kobe remembered for what they did together (three titles with the L.A. Lakers) or what they didn’t do together (nine titles?)? Reminds me of Billy Hoyle and Sidney Deane in White Men Can’t Jump. Those dudes coulda won so much more dough.
Then again, had [...]
This is Kobe’s Team
I was just beginning to write about the fact that the Lakers may not need Kobe any more. This team is deep. For example, the Lakers have Lamar Odom coming off the bench and talented Luke Walton barely making the rotation.
The result of such a deep squad are the huge one sided wins against the [...]
Houston we have a contender
When news broke that Ron Artest had been traded to the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night, our resident NBA blogger and Laker lover Ryantific had this reaction:
“(Expletive), did you see Artest is going to the Rockets? Makes them tough.”
The Sacramento Kings sent 6-7 Artest to Houston for a familiar face in Bobby Jackson, draft rights [...]
Olympic Hype Could be Fool’s Gold
If you’ve read anything about Team USA’s training camp in Las Vegas this week, you’d think it’s a forgone conclusion the Americans will win gold at the Beijing Olympics (see screenshot from today’s ESPN.com).But as I mentioned earlier, there are plenty of holes in this year’s U.S. squad – particularly its lack of size (Dwight [...]
Who said the season’s over?
The season might be over but there’s plenty of news emanating from the NBA ranks. And there are videos to accompany all three storylines:
Shaq O’Neal told us how he really feels about Kobe Bryant, and even the mainstream media is picking up on it. While it should be chalked up as an over-the-top freestyle “performance” [...]
