Thanks to some jankyass friend chicken from Albertsoons I’m home from work today with an amazing case of explosive diarrhea. So my first question is: is being home sick with explosive diarrhea >, < or = work? Today I am going to go with > because there are four baseball games on, including the Yankees’ home opener which is noteworthy. So since I’m sitting here with nothing better to do than IM with G Slim re: his fantasy basketball championship (good work, Gorg) I’m going to collect some of my thoughts on random stuff below:

Surf Magazines = Hard Freaking Core
First up, prody review: new backpack. Since I started surfing 6 or 7 years ago I have totally ruined three different backpacks. That is basically 2 bags per year which means they have a higher attrition rate than my wetsuits do. Enter Dakine’s Interval napsack, complete with special wax pocket and a felt stash area for your sunglasses so they don’t get all scratched up (personal pet peeve). With a waterproof compartment I’m saying goodbye to salt-rusted zippers and saying hello to stupid sentences.
Secondly, did you guys see Clayton Kershaw last night? Yes, it was the Giants and yes the bullpen blew the lead (color me concerned about Kuo by the way) but good lord he was pounding the zone and the Giant hitters seriously had no chance, Fred Lewis especially. Nice work for the fellas to sack it up in the 9th, highlighted by the fantasy relavant James Loney’s game winning walk-off-walk (his 3rd RBI of the night despite the fact that he had no hits).
Lastly, I’m heading to Vegas after work tomorrow for the weekend and coming back on Sunday then immediately driving to San Luis for possibly the most random Bloc Party show of all time. A) San Luis and B) the Vets Hall? I haven’t been to that place since I was 16 going to Bouncing Souls shows and getting trampled in mosh pits. It will probably be a sports-free weekend unless you count the roughly 90 calls that will be made between Greg, Baldo and I, which I don’t count but Jessica does.
