McCain and Palin to Add Even More Mavericks

In case you missed it last night while you were busy watching the Dodger game, Sarah Palin dropped a bombshell during her debate with Senator Joe Biden. “The Original Maverick and I are proud to announce that we are adding two more original mavericks to our presidential ticket. We have now cornered the market on mavericks, giving us the most mavericking maverickness of any campaign in history.” She then unveiled pictures of Lieutenant Pete Mitchell and cardsharp Brett Maverick, showcasing her coup on anything and everything Maverick related.

Biden was clearly taken aback by her announcement before telling the audience and the American public, “This is really a worse-case scenario for the Obama campaign. Frankly I don’t know how we can compete with this. I tip my hat to you, madam.” Biden then walked off the stage amidst a chorus of cheers from the crowd at Washington University (St. Louis, MO).

The Obama camp is expected to announce their concession today. "It's just too big an obstacle to overcome," Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod said. "One is a decorated war hero, even though the Russians denied any involvement in the international incident, and the other is a shoot-from-the-hip-gambler who can seemingly will aces on the river. Barack put in calls to James Garner, the original original Maverick but he was not interested in our offer unless we could guarantee him a lifetime supply of pancakes, something we are not prepared to do."
