I LOVE THE GIANTS

Last night Dodger fans cared more about the Giants than Giant fans did. Stone cold lock box lead pipe guarantee it. I had the Dodger-Pads match up TV and the Giants-Diamondback game on MLB.tv and slowly went cock-eyed from trying to watch both at the same time. Both games featured amazing up-and-down action late in the game as the Giants took a 4-2 lead just as Ethier was lacing his 3 RBI double down the right field line and just as I was fist pumping away while yammering on the celly, Chris Snyder took Brian Wilson deep to knot the D-Backs game at 4. Needless to say, when whoever-that-guy-is-on-the-Giants alligator rolled past Snyder to steal the game from Arizona there was much rejoicing around the neighborhood. Or at least in my bedroom, whatever.

Was anyone else blown away to see Andruw Jones’ name penciled into the lineup last night? Kemp has obviously been awful recently but Jones sure as hell isn’t the answer. I’m thinking we should probably start checking Torre’s phone records to see if he’d placed any calls to bookies after dropping a few 100Gs on the Padres last night…what other explanation is there for playing AJ? In fact the best thing to do with Jones would be to pay Arizona to take him off our hands—he is a handicap at this point, if the Dodgers play him they are essentially saying, “Not only are we better than you but we’re going to beat you with one hand tied behind our back…AND we’re going to play AJ in Center. That’s how little we think about your team.”

Up 2.5 with what looks to be the easiest remaining schedule in the Bigs is a nice situation to be in—all it took was a career month from Ethier to make it happen.
